The Greatest Two Years of My Life

DSC_0630

Dear Reader, this Sunday is a special day for Amanda and me. We will officially be married for two full years! Wow, on the one hand it seems like time has flown by, and yet, on the other hand it seems like forever since we “tied the knot” on May 15th, 2009. Please don’t misunderstand what I’m saying about the “seeming like forever” part. When I say it’s been “forever,” I don’t at all mean it in a negative way. We are so close now and so a part of each other’s lives that I almost can’t remember life without her. I often think, “What in the world did I do as a single college student at BJU?” Dark days, indeed. Life must have been terrible and boring then, I’m sure. But two years ago I married a girl, Amanda Grace Danforth (now Egerdahl), and my life has never been better! So, if you will allow me to gush, and gush I will, let me just give you 10 reasons why Amanda Grace is so amazing.

 1. Because she is REEEEALLY pretty. (Bro. Steve often looks at me and says, “Dude. You married up.” To which I reply, “….. thanks, I think”).

2. Because she laughs at my stupid jokes. (Honestly, her laugh is priceless).

3. Because she’s got an incredible voice. (Whenever we get a new song on team, all I can hear in my head is Amanda singing the opening solo part. Yes, I’m sorry. I know that I’m biased. So sue me. I’m kidding of course).

4. Because she is very thrifty, yet stylish.

5. Because she edits my blog posts and corrects my spelling. (So, if their are any erors in these post, it’s because I doesn’t let her read it. Ha!).

              6. Because she truly empathizes with people’s needs and hurts.

7. Because she is wise and perceptive. (I can always trust her opinion and advice).

8. Because she is humble and teachable.

               9. Because she supports me as a husband and leader.

10. Because I have seen her grow spiritually over the past two years we have been together. (This is the most important thing I love about Amanda. Truly, I am blessed to have a wife who loves God).

10.5. Did I mention that she is like knock-out pretty?

Well, there you go. Thank you, dear Reader, for enduring. If you made it through without gagging, I applaud you. If not, then I hope you where near the bathroom. I trust you will forgive a man who married up and feels so blessed. – Mark
